Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about how Agrix works and what to expect.
General
What is Agrix?
Agrix is a smart farming mobile app that uses AI to identify plants and detect crop diseases. Take a photo of any plant to identify it, or photograph a diseased crop to get a diagnosis report with treatment advice.
Is Agrix free to use?
Yes. Agrix is free to download and use. Simply create an account with your email and you have full access to all features.
What platforms is Agrix available on?
Agrix is currently available as an Android mobile app. iOS support is planned for a future release.
Do I need an internet connection to use Agrix?
Yes, an active internet connection is required to perform plant identification and disease detection scans, as the AI processing happens on our servers. Browsing the crop information library also requires connectivity. Offline mode is planned for a future update.
Plant Identification
How does plant identification work?
Tap the camera button in the center of the bottom navigation bar, take or upload a photo of the plant, and tap Analyze. Agrix sends your image to the Pl@ntNet AI engine, which identifies the plant and returns a detailed report including its scientific name, family, origin, and care information.
How accurate is the plant identification?
Accuracy depends on image quality and how clearly the plant is visible. Agrix always shows a confidence score with each result — a higher score means a more reliable identification. For best results: photograph the plant in good natural lighting, focus on a single leaf, flower, or fruit rather than the whole plant from a distance, and avoid blurry or dark images.
What if the confidence score is very low?
A low confidence score (below 30%) means the AI is uncertain about the identification. The result may be incorrect. We always recommend seeking confirmation from a local botanist, plant nursery, or agricultural extension service for low-confidence results.
Can I identify any plant?
Agrix uses the Pl@ntNet database which covers hundreds of thousands of plant species worldwide. Most common plants, crops, trees, and wildflowers can be identified. Rare or highly localized species may not be recognized.
Crop Disease Detection
Which crops are supported for disease detection?
Agrix currently supports disease detection for 8 crops — Fruits: Apple, Banana, Strawberry, Mango; Vegetables: Tomato, Carrot, Spinach, Broccoli. We are actively expanding this list.
How do I check a crop for disease?
Tap the Crops tab in the bottom navigation, select Fruits or Vegetables, tap the crop you want to check, tap Check for Disease, take or upload a photo of the affected area, then tap Analyze and wait for the report.
What information does a disease report include?
A disease report includes the identified disease name, what causes it (fungal, bacterial, viral, etc.), how it spreads, treatment recommendations, prevention strategies, and a confidence score for the diagnosis.
Can I rely on the disease report to treat my crops?
The disease report is a helpful starting point, but it is not a substitute for professional advice. For serious crop health issues — especially commercial farms — always consult a qualified agronomist, plant pathologist, or your local agricultural extension office before applying treatments.
Scan History & Favourites
Are my scan results saved?
Yes. Every plant identification and disease scan is automatically saved to your personal history. You can access it anytime via the History tab.
Can I filter my history?
Yes. In the History tab, use the filter chips at the top to show All, Plants only, or Diseases only.
What are Favourites?
You can mark any scan result as a favourite by tapping the heart icon on a history card. Favourited scans appear in the Favourites tab so you can quickly find your most important results.
Can I delete scan results?
Yes. You can delete individual scan results from your history at any time within the app.
Can I download a scan report?
Yes. Open any scan result from your history and tap Download Report to save a formatted PDF to your device.

Technical & Support
The app shows "Something went wrong." What should I do?
This usually means the app encountered an unexpected error. Try: pulling down to refresh or tapping Retry; closing and reopening the app; checking your internet connection; logging out and back in. If the problem persists, contact us with a description of what you were doing when the error occurred.
My disease scan returned no result / a very vague result. Why?
This can happen when the photo is blurry, too dark, or doesn't clearly show the affected area; the disease is at a very early stage and symptoms are not yet pronounced; or the plant or disease is not well represented in the Pl@ntNet training data. Try taking a clearer, closer photo of the most visibly affected area of the plant.
Does Agrix store my photos?
Photos are transmitted securely to our servers for AI processing. They are not permanently stored after the analysis is complete. Scan results (text only) are stored in your history.
How do I contact the Agrix team or report a bug?
Email us at agrix@gmail.com with a description of the issue, your device model, and what you were doing when the bug occurred. We'd also love to hear feature suggestions.
